2024 Graduate Student Summer Internship - Norton Museum of Art
The Norton Museum of Art Summer Internship Program provides two graduate students with the opportunity to gain practical art museum experience, engage in intellectual discourse, and develop professional skills.
Throughout the seven-week program summer interns will: - Work with the Learning and Community Engagement Department and other departments throughout the Museum based on needs.
- Lead tours through Museum special exhibitions and the Museum Collection to visitors of all ages (Lead tours for Summer Studio /Summer camp groups).
- Help to manage education programs such as Community days, Art After Dark, and assist in the planning of future programs.
- Please note: Programs may include occasional nights and weekends.
- Engage in weekly readings, writing assignments, and discussions of current art historical and museum studies issues.
- Conduct Art Historical research about future exhibitions and the Norton Collection.
Terms and Eligibility The program is open to Art, Art Education, Art History, and Museum Studies Graduate students at any accredited U.S. college or university.
All applicants must have successfully completed at least four college-level courses in art history.
Interns will be paid $17.00 per hour and may be provided shared housing if needed in West Palm Beach, FL.
Internship Dates: June 17, 2024 – August 2, 2024
