Land Planner / Landscape Architect
Gaskins + LeCraw’s recently minted Campus and Land Planning team is growing! With exciting projects on-the-boards and in the pipeline, the team is seeking a Land Planner / Landscape Architect with the energy, enthusiasm and talent required to help create high-quality project solutions. The selected candidate will be located in Duluth with opportunities to collaborate across all Gaskins + LeCraw offices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Site Evaluations. Visit project sites to evaluate and document opportunities and constraints
- Framework Plans. Base on Site Evaluations, work with Senior Planner/Designers to develop framework plans that guide the development
- Site Plans. Collaborate with team to develop conceptual plans that can be evaluated and advanced into final design
- Cost Estimates. Working project teams, assist in the preparation of ball park opinion of cost estimates for site related work
- Construction Documents. Work with team to develop site construction plans, details and specs
- Illustrations. Create p rofessional graphics and illustrations necessary for conveying design intent to various audiences. Preparation/review of deliverables including reports, cost estimates, renderings, plans and specifications
- Presentations. Assist team in development of presentations for the purpose of gaining stakeholder acceptance and regulatory approvals
- Project Management. Work with Project Team Leader to manage project workflow and schedule
REQUIREMENTS:
- 8+ years experience as a professional Landscape Architect or Land Planner.
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or Urban Design.
- Seeking or has obtained professional registration.
- Experience with site planning and design for a variety of project types, sizes and complexities.
- Working knowledge of municipal planning, zoning and site plan review and approval processes.
- Ability to take projects from SD to CD while ensuring quality assurance reviews are incorporated at critical project milestones.
- Excellent communication skills utilizing both hand drawn and computer-aided design/illustration techniques (e.g., Adobe Suites/Google Apps and AutoCAD)
