Belay Technologies is seeking a Entry or Mid-Level System Administrator (SA) to join our intel team. The SA provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. The SA manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. The SA provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. The SA provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier II (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. The SA provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. The SA provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process. The SA configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
Candidate has to have basic to strong Linux skills depending on years of experience and LCAT level they are submitted for. Responsibilities include command line system administration as well as application and data/messaging flow adminstration.
All SA positions require on-call rotation support
Candidates should have the following qualifications:
- TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
- 5 years no degree for Entry Level SA.
- 10 Years no degree for Mid Level SA.
Candidates are required to have the following skills:
ETR Team: Candidate has to have Linux experience.
The Level 2 System Administrator shall possess the following capabilities:
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
- Provide Tier I (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
- Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
- Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
- Provide Tier I (Help Desk) and Tier II (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
- Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
- Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
- Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems
- Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
- Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
- Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancement to improve reliability and performance
Additional contract or position specific required experience for this level (skills, technologies, expertise):
- One (1) year experience in Linux, Unix, Windows or Cisco OS operating system
- Five (5) years' experience administering Linux, Unix or Windows Operating System
- Three (3) years' experience installing software packages such as .iso and RedHat package Managers (rpm)
Candidates are desired to have the following skills:
- Three (3) years' experience configuring, troubleshooting, monitoring, and administering a messaging service (such as Java Messaging Service, TIBCO, ActiveMQ, Artemis, Kafka)
- Other CWIP: IAT Level I Certification, IA Baseline Certification in Linux, Unix, Windows, or Cisco OS operating system
*SIGINT experience is desired.
- Five (5) years' experience supporting applications in the SIGINT environment
Duties include:
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for all Windows environments and have expert knowledge and skills in using Microsoft operating systems (Windows 2012R2 and Windows 2016 or higher)
- Engineer, integrate, design and deploy various Windows components and expert knowledge in Active Directory, Group Policy, digital certificates, multi factor integration, DNS and DHCP
- Create baselines for Windows Server 2012/2016 or higher with the appropriate DISA STIGS applied for Windows 2012R2 and Windows 2016 or higher.
- Monitor and correct critical server issues and create recovery processes for failures and performance bottlenecks.
- Use native, add on tools, and third-party tools to troubleshoot malfunctions, optimizations.
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
- Ensure technical documentation exists for all systems and is kept up to date to include inventory and patch levels of all systems to include hostnames, property numbers, IP addresses, enclave, number of cores, number of processors, admin passwords, certificates, and service accounts as required
- Integrate systems with Windows as it applies to authentication and core services dependencies such single sign-on and Active Directory.
- Engineer and implement solutions for multi-factor authentication with standardized software and hardware.
