Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.Reporting to the Senior Project Administrator Supervisor and Director of the Office of Continuing Professional Education ( OCPE ), this position is responsible for leading all aspects of planning, budgeting, marketing, delivering, and evaluating the courses and training events in the Rutgers Professional Golf Turf Management School and other program areas as assigned.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Oversees and coordinates all logistics for programs including: management of budgets to meet self-supporting revenue goals of OCPE .
- Selects qualified instructors and subject matter experts.
- Schedules classes.
- Analyses program and marketing strategy effectiveness, and the constant review of market trends.
- Implements changes and improvements independently as results of program analysis indicate.
- Serves as liaison with students, public and private institutions and regulatory agencies to determine eligibility, special program requirements, modifications, innovations and certification credit requirements.
- Performs professional level of work for OCPE under general supervision and works with a significant level of independence on the majority of tasks.
- Completes various tasks and duties that are consistent with an understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of OCPE as a self-supporting unit and the university as a whole.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- The position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the organization and facilitation of program management, business management, program coordination, event management, project management and/or marketing.
- Also requires two years of relevant experience.

- Microsoft Office, Salesforce, ANCOR , In-Design and Adobe, OCPE internal budget / financial system (Access), Canvas, various state pesticide licensing websites, Zoom, WebEx, Teams.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment.
- No specific dress code is defined, but this position is expected to dress professionally for meetings, conferences and classes with internal and external clients.
Special Conditions:
- This position may occasionally be required to work outside of normal business hours – early morning, late afternoon/evening with an occasional weekend – as the needs of program, courses or events require.
