Valdosta Veterinary Associates is now taking DVM students for externships!
VVA was founded by Jillian Courson, DVM (LMU 2018) & built to AAHA criteria as accreditation is one our short-term goals. We believe in providing our patients with access to quality, up-to-date medicine - when it is needed most - & we invest in our practice accordingly. We are a newer, state-of-the-art small animal hospital located in sunny Valdosta, Georgia. We serve a large region of southern Georgia & northern Florida extending north to Douglas, east to Brunswick, west to Bainbridge and south to Live Oak. We offer GP services during normal business hours & 24/7/365 emergency & critical care services. We are interested in adding an Internist one day as well as exotics & large animal services.
We have 5 exam rooms, a fully stocked pharmacy, two OR Suites with CO2 Surgical Laser, Rigid & Flexible Endoscopes, complete in-house Idexx Lab including Digital Cytology, a dedicated Dental Suite with Digital Dental Radiology, Radiology Suite with Digital Radiology & Ultrasound, MLS Cold Laser Therapy, Phovia Florescent Light Therapy, & 2 ICUs. We have on-site temporary housing for Veterinarians on-call. A positive work culture has been intentionally curated with a focus on patient advocacy, client education, team work, well-being, & personal growth.
Skills & Qualifications Required
Surrounded by beautiful pecan orchards, Valdosta is a charming southern Georgia community with a population of 56,000 and is home to Wild Adventures Theme Park, the Azalea Festival, the South Georgia Film Festival, the Hahira Honey Bee Festival, and the Peach State Summer Theatre. Nearby Atlanta, Savannah, Jacksonville, Tallahassee, St. Augustine, Orlando, and various east and gulf coast beaches are within a few hours drive for those perfect day-trip adventures on your days off.
