Mast Market is a mission-driven, organic market based in New York. Our mission is to nourish community. We believe healthy, local food systems are an essential part of nourished communities. Working directly with local, organic farmers and making everything in small batches allows us to make the nutritious, organic pantry more accessible, sustainable, and delicious. From house roasted coffees, stone milled heritage flours, and homemade jams, to house churned butters and our beloved handcrafted chocolate, we seek to nourish community in everything we do.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for local and organic food obsessed, hospitality naturals who love people to join our team at our new location in Bedford, NY. This position will serve customers, merchandise products; make coffees, cocoas and teas; and be fully educated on the many products in our new market. This position requires an energetic, positive, organized, and pro-active nature in a busy and demanding setting. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide best in class customer experience to market guests.
• Check out guests with our Point-of-Sale (POS) system.
• Serve coffees, cocoas, and teas.
• Assist with receiving inventory and restocking.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the market and cafe
• Contribute to the achievement of revenue goals by creating a positive, delicious experience that combines unparalleled customer service and education. 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Two years in the food industry.
• Barista experience is a plus.
• A true lover of all things food: sharing it, learning about it, talking about it, and eating it with others.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build strong relationships with colleagues.
• Charismatic, outgoing self-starter with pride and passion for great customer service.
• Excellent written and verbal communicator.
• Kind, thorough, reliable, and team-oriented.
