DESCRIPTION OF EMPLOYER: Founded in 1901, Feeser’s, Inc. is a family-owned and operated full-line foodservice distributor located in Harrisburg, PA, servicing the Mid-Atlantic region. Feeser’s provides an expansive offering of dry, refrigerated, and frozen products to a diverse customer base comprised of restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational facilities, and other institutions.
SUMMARY:
The Employee Relations Specialist provides consultative services to Company managers on a variety of issues related to motivating, coaching, and addressing performance and behavior concerns with their staff members. This position works with managers and employees throughout the Company to address concerns, resolve conflict, develop performance improvement plans, and involuntary terminations of employment, including reviewing and developing appropriate documentation. The Employee Relations Representative also assists employees with leave of absence requests including FMLA & STD.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administer core HR strategies, policies, and procedures to protect and leverage the interests of the company and its employees.
Participate as necessary in all employee relations activities, including mediating disputes and conflicts between employees and management.
Using strong HR knowledge, provide guidance and support to managers throughout the organization
Draft legally compliant discipline and coaching documentation with supervision
Draft, review, and make recommendations related to Involuntary Terminations with supervision
Assist managers in creating performance improvement plans and determining appropriate action plans
Facilitate a positive employee relations culture.
Serve as the primary site HR interface with managers/supervisors at all levels to ensure appropriate HR support, service, and counsel are provided.
Train/coach supervisors/managers in interpreting and administrating the HR policies, procedures, and employee policy manual.
Ensure regulatory compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements related to the human resources function, including: employment and labor law, FLSA, FMLA, ADA,employee relations.
Work collaboratively with other HR staff to support corporate and business unit activities.
Develop and administer programs designed to establish and maintain effective employee relations through the uniform and equitable application of policies and procedures.
Provide coaching and counsel to employees at every level of the organization.
Audit the organization to identify employee relations issues and recommend appropriate actions to address and resolve those issues.
Responsible for conducting all investigations on behalf of the company.
Handles employee questions, concerns, and complaints.
Maintains employee relations records.
Contribute to the regular strategic planning, review, and development of Human Resource Strategy and be an integral part of the site management group with the ability to contribute positively.
Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Manage and communicate organizational changes.
Prepare and present reports on general HR activity and employee satisfaction.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Thorough understanding of HR laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Office, Excel, and PowerPoint) required. UKG Ready experience, preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, or a related field is required with a minimum of three years' experience.
SHRM-CP and/or PHR certification.
