The purpose of Florida educator certification is to support the academic achievement of students by assuring that educators are professionally qualified for highly effective instruction. Florida educators must be certified to teach in our public schools and in many of our private schools. Educators include classroom teachers, school administrators, and other support professionals, such as guidance counselors and media specialists. The Bureau of Educator Certification (BEC) is committed to providing timely, accurate, and efficient services to all constituents. Description:

The Records Technician is responsible for high-volume data entry in the Bureau of Educator Certification’s management system (Versa). This position requires the timely and accurate review of certification applicant credentials, transcripts, and other submitted materials. This is a team-oriented position in which the employee must engage with other bureau staff.

The selected individual will be primarily responsible for performing support tasks that include updating file records, data entry, and determining appropriate system updates for certification application processing.
