TYPE and TITLE: Full-Time Accounts Payable (Nonsupervisory role)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of Accounts Payable involves providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to the organization. Day-to-day management ensures all payment cycle activities are performed in a timely and efficient manner. Butler Enterprises is an 83-year-old local-owned and operated Gainesville real estate development company that is seeking to add to its accounting and finance department. Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receiving and tracking all invoices.
• Tracking invoices through the approval process.
• Ensuring recurring invoices have been received and processed.
• Verify EFT transactions have been posted to the accounting records before the date of the draft.
• Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to outstanding balances.
• Maintaining historical records.
• Scheduling vendor payments in a manner to avoid all late fees and penalties.
• Responding to all vendor and internal inquiries.
• Reconciling processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to outstanding balances.
• Preparing analyses of accounts and providing management with weekly and monthly reporting reconciliations.
• Continuing to improve the payment process.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, REQUIREMENTS, and PREFERENCES:

• Basic bookkeeping and accounts skills.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with Yardi preferred.
• After appropriate training, be able to utilize industry-specific software.

A degree in one of the following subjects would be preferred:

• Accounting
• Finance
• Business Studies
