This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at La Jolla and remote.

The division of Medical Education within the UC San Diego School of Medicine consists of the following units: Undergraduate Medical Education, Admissions & Student Affairs, Diversity and Community Partnerships, Graduate Medical Education, Continuing Medical Education & Faculty Development, Simulation Education, Physician Assistant Education, Anatomical Services, Business Affairs and Educational Technology. The division supports the education, training and co-curricular activities of approximately 560 medical students, 90 physician assistant students, 1000 residents and fellows as well as the faculty, physician and healthcare providers at UCSD's School of Medicine, its' Medical Centers, and affiliates.
Under supervision, the Special Projects Analyst serves as an independent, professional expert in various areas within the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) at UC San Diego School of Medicine. This position specializes in managing complex projects related to the curricular support functions of Undergraduate Medical Education as delegated by the Assistant Dean, Curricular Affairs and Accreditation or UGME Director. The incumbent will collaborate with cross-unit stakeholders and manage assigned special projects. This position will provide extensive analytical, project, and administrative support to ensure efficient coordination of all assigned activities. Additionally, this role will contribute to various administrative duties and offer support to curricular activities.
The specific areas of support include, but are not limited to, consulting with the Director of Disability Services to arrange and implement testing procedures for students with disabilities; monitoring of student attendance and development of issue reports for the Associate Dean, UGME; analysis of system efficiencies and optimal work flows; creating and maintaining standard operating procedures and best practice guidelines, and other tasks or special projects, as assigned. This position will provide as-needed additional support to curricular activities.
The incumbent must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and calmness in a rapidly changing, time-pressured environment. This requires the incumbent to use discretion and fully analyze issues and problems, utilize independent judgment, possess strong organizational skills and the ability to be flexible as priorities demand. Performs other duties as assigned.
Six years of related experience, education/training, OR an Bachelor's degree in related area plus two years of related experience/training.
Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize job responsibilities in an environment of high-volume workload, competing deadlines, changing priorities, and frequent interruptions.
Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Superior interpersonal skills to be effective in communicating and interacting with all levels of the organization (i.e., university and department), including academics, managers, staff and students; the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships; and the skill to establish rapport and gain the trust of others.
Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.
Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.
Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs.
Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.
