We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to help us build and support Audience Platform services within our Customer Data Platform organization. You will work on the services that help customers import, export, and manage their contact lists; grow their segments; and expand their marketing channels. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers across the company to ensure our products are performant and reliable. You should be comfortable with distributed teams (as you’ll work with many folks in other locations), and also excited about building a strong, inclusive environment for everyone who joins after you.
Intuit Mailchimp is a hybrid workplace, giving employees the opportunity to collaborate in person with team members in our Atlanta, New York, or Mountain View offices two or more days per week.
You have 5 or more years of experience building and operating large web applications and extensive experience working within large-scale development environments.
You’re experienced in designing and implementing application architectures (and code) that are highly scalable, available, maintainable, and performant.
You’re as comfortable working with and improving upon legacy systems and code as you are building new features and microservices.
You’ve developed strong core programming skills in a language, but believe in identifying the right tool for the job, and are passionate about embracing new technologies when the opportunity arises.
You have significant experience writing and improving code in modern, object-oriented PHP and any modern PHP framework. You also have direct experience with databases backing your code - experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL are particularly preferred.
Experience writing and improving code in Kotlin, or another language that utilizes the JVM (Java or Scala, for instance), and experience with Spring Boot are nice to have’s in this role.
You have significant expertise in cloud computing platforms, ideally Amazon Web Services (AWS).
You have experience modeling data, and are thoughtful about the impacts of data design in a large application.
You have strong communication and collaboration skills.
Establish and evolve best practices using latest industry standards and existing Intuit technologies for one or more engineering teams.
Model extreme ownership, seeking opportunities to contribute in high-impact initiatives and keeping low tech debt.
Hold a high bar for quality designs through periodic reviews of services and modules, operational plans, and data models.
Demonstrate strong operational excellence experience. Use your understanding of deployment architecture and designs for low MTTD/MTTR, HADR, and fast recovery/self healing. Actively drive performance, load, failure mode testing, and resolutions.
Empower team members by providing technical guidance and mentorship.
Help scope, estimate and prioritize development efforts across multiple work streams.
Architect and deliver highly scalable and resilient on-premises and cloud-based systems.
Write reusable and self-serve libraries and tools, lead refactoring and functionality enhancement initiatives, and demonstrate quick resolutions of escalated issues while on-call.
Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is New York $180,500 - $244,000, Bay Area California $180,500-244,000. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
