- Continuously monitor and interpret patients' vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, using telemetry equipment.
- Analyse and interpret data from monitoring devices, recognizing any abnormalities or changes in patients' conditions. Report findings to the healthcare team.
- Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team, including physicians, other nurses, and support staff. Provide updates on patient status and collaborate on care plans.
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and responses in the medical records. Keep detailed records of telemetry data and any changes in the patient's condition.
- Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, initiating appropriate interventions and notifying the healthcare team as needed.
- Provide education to patients and their families about the use of telemetry equipment, the purpose of monitoring, and what to expect during their stay in the telemetry unit.
- Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosage and monitoring for potential side effects.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care, safety, and outcomes within the telemetry unit.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to patient care and telemetry monitoring.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills to assess, prioritize, and manage multiple patients with varying levels of acuity.
- Adapt to changes in patient conditions, unit priorities, and healthcare protocols.
Requirements EXPERIENCE: - Minimum of six months Registered Nurse experience - Preferred
- Strong Med/Surg Background preferred.
- Recent Telemetry experience preferred.
- Post Cardiothoracic Surgery and PCI & post spine care experience preferred.
- Recent experience with non-titrating vasoactive agents preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: - Current California licensures as a Registered Nurse required.
- Current Basic Life Support certification required.
- Current ACLS certification.
OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE: - Knowledgeable of the California Nursing Practice Act.
- Able to understand and follow all policies, procedures, guidelines, rules and regulations of the Nursing Service, of the facility
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
