Our client is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Data Strategy / Business Intelligence to lead the development and management of data strategy, including the establishment of a robust Data Warehouse on Microsoft Power BI and a Data Lake on AWS. This will be an onsite role in Andover, MA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic planning, hands-on technical expertise, and team building to enable effective data utilization across the organization
Data strategy leadership: develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives, driving data-driven insights and informed decision-making
Data Warehouse and Data Lake: build, manage, and optimize a Data Warehouse on Microsoft PowerBI and a Data Lake on AWS, ensuring scalability, security, and performance
Team building: assemble and lead a team of data engineers, analysts, and other relevant roles to execute the data strategy and maintain the data infrastructure
Data governance and quality: Establish data governance processes, data quality standards, and data lineage tracking to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
Cross-functional collaboration: collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, provide analytical solutions, and promote data-driven insights
BI reporting and analytics: oversee the creation and delivery of interactive and actionable business intelligence reports and dashboards using PowerBI, enabling stakeholders to make informed decisions
Data security and compliance: implement and enforce data security measures and compliance protocols, ensuring the protection of sensitive information
Data exploration and discovery: Encourage data exploration and self-service analytics, empowering users to derive insights from available data sources
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field
Proven experience (8+ years) in data strategy, business intelligence, data warehousing, and data engineering
Strong expertise in building and delivering interactive dashboards and reports with tools such as MS PowerBI and Tableau
Proficiency in designing, building, and managing Data Warehouses with knowledge of Enterprise Business Intelligence tools
Proficiency in designing, building, and managing Data Lakes with knowledge of Microsoft and AWS
Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security best practices
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business insights
Prior experience in the medical or healthcare industry is a plus
