Job description

Bright Harbor Healthcare is currently seeking a full-year intern to provide case management and other services to KFT program consumers in Ocean County, NJ.

Keeping Families Together (KFT) is a long-term program aimed to assist DCPP involved families challenged with homelessness/housing instability putting children at risk for out-of-home placement or delaying reunification. KFT utilizes a housing-first model to work with our families in obtaining stable, subsidized housing. The program focuses on the following to help families overcome the obstacles that prevent the family unity they desire: 1) Reunification; 2) Housing Stability; 3) Vocational Counseling; 4) Substance Use Services; 5) Socialization and Self-Sufficiency; 6) Parenting Skills; 7) Strengthening Families Curriculum.

Position Title: KFT Intern
Position Type: Internship
Position Hours: Program runs from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm; Scheduling flexible; One evening shift per month preferred; First Wednesday of the month availability if possible by school.

Responsibilities:

• Assist consumers with housing, appointments, assistance with anything related to social services

• Assist in completion of self sufficiency plan reviews and quarterly reports
• Participate in multidisciplinary treatment teams, including community organizations (schools, etc.)
• Participation in consumer medication appointments
• Observe groups including Girl Scouts and Mom Group
• Conduct housing searches
• Enter client notes into electronic records system
• Conduct chart reviews
• Attend court with client and observe court hearings
• Perform other office related duties as assigned
• Participation in holiday events (Easter, Holidays, Thanksgiving)

Requirements

• Must be a current student in a health and human services field completing internship for credits
• Full-year availability
