Job description
This position is to serve the church as a spiritual and organizational leader responsible for leading all aspects of the corporate worship life of the church. Primary responsibilities include the planning, leading and coordinating of all corporate worship services; recruiting, developing and shepherding worship volunteers; leading all aspects of worship service production; and supporting worship for all ages in the church.
The person must be a Christian and represent not only Donelson First but Jesus Christ Himself and demonstrate a real love and concern for all people. This person must be an active member of Donelson First. This person will work together with all other staff and leadership and will fully support all the ministries of Donelson First. This person must have a servant’s heart, be positive and maintain open and frequent communication with the ministry team, support staff, volunteers and members. This person shall adhere to the church culture and operate under the supervision of and report to the Senior Pastor and serve in cooperation with the staff.
This person will, led by the vision and direction of the Senior Pastor:
● Plan, coordinate, lead and evaluate weekly corporate worship services that are consistent with the church’s mission and values. This includes all musical elements, as well as verbal worship leading, scriptures, prayers, stories, videos, announcements, creative elements, and other content, as needed.
● Convey a confident yet humble presence in corporate worship services, leading both musically and verbally.
● Work with the Senior Pastor and other staff members to plan creative and engaging worship elements for each sermon series and to perform long-range worship planning.
● Recruit, develop and train volunteer teams (instrumentalists, vocal worship leaders, and production teams), equipping and empowering team members.
● Invest spiritually and personally in the lives of members of the worship and production teams.
● Lead all aspects of the church’s Production Ministry, including Sunday morning sound, video, lighting and live stream, video editing and production, and other requirements, as necessary.
● Plan and lead midweek band rehearsals and weekend sound check/dress rehearsals.
● Develop the spiritual life of Worship + Media Teams and lead Teams in weekly bible study.
● Strategically lead all other musical groups, either personally or through key volunteers as needed.
● Support all audiovisual needs of the church, including purchasing, maintaining and evaluating equipment and working with volunteers, as needed.
● Support the worship life of all the church ministries, including children, youth and college.
● Meet regularly with the Senior Pastor and other team members to discuss and address strategic and tactical issues related to the church and staff.
● Work with Outreach Coordinator to actively promote Donelson First Worship socials.
● Serve as the primary point of contact and coordinator for all events in the Worship Center (weddings, funerals, other large gatherings), particularly including all musical and production elements.
● Set and monitor the progress of short and long term personal and professional goals to build the effectiveness of the Donelson First Worship Ministry within the mission and vision of the church.
● Manage the Worship Ministry budget.
Specific requirements include:

● Strong interpersonal skills.
● Shows initiative, perseverance, and possess a “whatever it takes” attitude.
● Knowledge of ProPresenter, Planning Center, Mac, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Suite.
● Possess strong musical skills and be able to lead vocally with excellence and have a solid understanding of theory, harmony, sheet music/chord charts, and arranging for a band.
● Strong instrumental skills (guitar and/or keys).
● Have a strong appreciation for and willingness to lead in a variety of musical styles.
● Be proficient in worship-related technologies, such as video/audio editing, loops/tracks, stems, live-streaming, audio/visual technology, and lighting.
● Be a skilled recruiter and team builder – identifying the gifts of people in the congregation and community and empowering them to use those gifts.
