ABOUT OWNCS
Our World Neighborhood Charter Schools (OWNCS) is one of the oldest charter schools in New York, opening its doors in 2002. OWNCS is now a network or three schools on four campuses across Queens, NY. Our mission is to educate students to become independent thinkers and lifelong learners with an educational philosophy grounded in constructivism, inquiry, active and experiential learning, and social justice.
OWNCS is committed to providing strong educational opportunities for children in underserved communities and believes in the importance of creating socio-economically and culturally diverse schools.
A successful candidate for this position will embody confidence, exercise good judgement and must be able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with various constituencies, including students, senior staff, co-workers, and teachers.
POSITION SUMMARY
Our World Neighborhood Charter Schools (OWNCS) is searching for a new team member to join our dynamic and growing network of schools. The COO will be a key and collaborative member of the network's 4 member C-Suite, which includes the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Academic Officer and will report directly to the CEO. The Chief Operations Officer (COO) will supervise the operational activities across the network and be responsible for the development and implementation of the network's operation strategies, compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, development of short and long term plans, policies and administrative procedures, and collaborating with the CEO and other leaders to ensure the alignment of network activities with strategic goals.

5+ years of senior-level leadership experience in nonprofit organizations, preferably charter school setting Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, salaried position with competitive benefits. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience and ranges from $170,000 to $180,000.
