Job description
Job Summary:
The Director of Education at Sylvan Learning of Omaha is responsible for delivering educational instruction to students in the Omaha area and leading a successful team of instructors and administrative staff. The director will support student success by creating a positive learning environment, ensuring that educational services are progressive and effective, and monitoring their programs to provide excellent results for the students and families.
Compensation & Benefits:
The Director of Education position pays a salary of $40,000 to $45,000 per year, paid on a monthly basis. Employees are eligible for paid vacation and other personal days, plus bonus opportunities through revenue targets. Additional benefits such as medical insurance and retirment plans may also be available.
Responsibilities:
- Assess students and create their learning plans through Sylvan's proprietary computer adaptative software
- Monitor student progress and be aware of any learning needs that need additional attention
- Meet with families monthly to go over progress and revisit goals
- Provide leadership to the educational staff by developing a team spirit and exhibiting strong organizational and communication skills
- Manage the financial budget, ensuring that resources are spent wisely
- Foster positive relationships with the schools in our territory
- Manage and execute daily operations within the center, including staff and student supervision
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or a related field
- A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in educational management
- Experience with special education and/or literacy programs
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a staff to successful communal results
- Knowledge of computer applications and a commitment to staying current on emerging technologies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work with a wide range of populations
