DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW


The Central Coast K-16 Regional Collaborative is a collective impact initiative of K-12, Community College, California State University, University of California, and industry partners who united to make transformative, equity-centered change to address long-standing educational and economic inequities along the education-to-employment pathways leading to high-skill, high-wage, high-demand employment across the region. The Central Coast region is comprised of six counties (Santa Cruz, San Benito, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura).


The UC Santa Cruz Educational Partnership Center, serving as the fiscal agent and operational backbone for the collaborative, increases access and opportunity to postsecondary education for underrepresented students across the Monterey Bay, Pajaro Valley and Silicon Valley regions. The operational backbone functions will be in partnership between the EPC and the Student Success and Equity unit under the Division of Student Affairs and Success which includes the Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives.

JOB SUMMARY


Under the direction of the Steering Committee, and supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Educational Partnerships and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Success and Equity, the Central Coast K16 Regional Collaborative Director provides leadership, policy guidance, management, and guides the daily operation of the collaborative to ensures its shared goals are achieved efficiently and effectively. The director is responsible to plan, execute, track progress, and manage the initiatives as set forth in the Regional K-16 Collaborative Implementation Grant. Works closely with Cabrillo College, the Santa Cruz County Office of Education, and UC Santa Barbara, also providing operational backbone support, in working jointly to advance the work of the collaborative. Responsible for implementing, guiding, and supporting the Steering Committee, Regional Leadership Teams, Tri-Chairs, and multiple K16 collaborative work groups toward meeting project goals and objectives. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with K16 educational segment partners across the Central Coast region (K12, CCC, CSU and UC), and industry and community partners. Works with grant partners to deploy and implement programs that incorporate educational, community, workforce, and employer engagement across the Central Coast which includes Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura counties to support equitable educational and economic opportunities for students and address equity barriers in career and technical education pathways in the areas of Healthcare, Engineering/Computing, and STEM Education.



APPOINTMENT INFORMATION



Budgeted Salary: $107,000 - $125,000/annually. Salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
Under California law, the University of California, Santa Cruz is required to post a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. The salary shown above is the budgeted amount the University reasonably expects to pay and the salary extended should not exceed this posted amount.
