AI/ML Algorithm Developer Intern

Location/Division Specific Information
The student will work in the Bothell WA site to support R&D efforts.
Discover Impactful Work:
We are looking for an internship candidate who is working towards a bachelors’ degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or related field, and has an interest in developing Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) solutions.
The student will be involved in supporting our R&D team responsible for developing AI/ML algorithms for microscopy and imaging related instruments. The instruments that the multi-functional R&D team works on include fluorescence microscopes, automated cell counters, and flow cytometers.
Example projects that the AI/ML student may be involved in include:
• Prototype an algorithm to improve ease-of-use of one of our instruments.
• Investigate different AI/ML hardware and software platforms, or methodologies, to enable AI/ML models to run efficiently in different environments – such as on a low-cost CPU, on a single GPU, parallelized on multi-GPUs, or distributed.
A day in the Life:
As part of the internship, the student will:
• Work closely with other software developers and engineers
• Gain necessary minimum domain knowledge
• Create plan for work to accomplish
• Execute plan
• Attend standup meetings to provide daily updates to your work, and obtain guidance
• Present the work that was completed

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Washington is $14.75–$45.75.
