Job Summary:
BB&N is seeking a Middle School Academic Technology Specialist to serve as a member of the All-School Technology Department. This position is responsible for supporting the Middle School faculty, staff, and students with the integration of technology into the classroom and curriculum. We seek an experienced educator with contagious enthusiasm for using technology in creative, collaborative, and inquiry-based learning. In addition, an undergraduate degree in education and/or technology or a related field or experience is preferred. This is an 11-month position reporting to the Director of Instructional Technology and the Middle School Campus Director. The BB&N Middle School consists of Grades 7 and 8.
Key responsibilities include:
Teaching a minimum of 1 class
Coordinating and maintaining the campus Maker Space and its programming
Leading the after-school middle school Robotics Club
Budgeting for the makerspace and Robotics Club
Providing/facilitating technology support and skills building to the Middle School community
Triaging user support with helpdesk team members
Managing summer student technology mailing and coordinating with the student orientation team for the tech training requirements for the opening of the school year
Advising students
Participates as a full MS Community member in weekly duties and responsibilities that are on a rotating schedule (ie Break, Lunch, E Block, and Driveway duties)
Regularly attend MS faculty meetings, all school Academic Technology Team meetings, mandatory events (ie Back to School Night, Orientations, Professional Development Days, Open House, workshops, etc.), and other meetings as appropriate.

Strong collaborator and communicator eager to support faculty and staff in technology integration (ie Canvas, Google, Canva, and other 3rd party learning platforms/tools)
Dedicated to encouraging middle school-aged students to think deeply about the curriculum, themselves, and the world around them through a lens of scientific inquiry, responsible technology use, and global citizenship.
Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
Classroom teaching/school experience at the Middle School level.
Passion for working with middle school-aged students.
Significant experience using technology resources in an educational setting.
Background or interest in ISTE standards.
Experience collaborating with teachers and supporting students to integrate technology resources.
Collaborative working style, responsible team member, flexible and willing to pitch in to do whatever needs to be done.
Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Professional communication with supervisors, parents, students, faculty, and staff.
Commitment to supporting BB&N’s goal of becoming an anti-racist institution and understanding/embracing the DEIG commitments.
Excellent and appropriate communication and organization skills: written, oral, and listening.
Experience with Mac OS, Google Apps for Education, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, teacher websites, Canvas or another LMS platform, and various software, hardware, and peripherals for classroom use.
Salary: $67,500.00 - $100,146.00
BB&N offers competitive salaries and benefits and employs equitable and consistent compensation practices. Our compensation strategy prioritizes equity of pay for faculty with similar years of teaching experience. Starting full-time salaries for the 2024-2025 school year typically range from a starting salary of $67,500 to the median 20-year teaching experience salary of $100,146.00 Both of these salaries are exclusive of additional compensation granted to faculty with relevant advanced degrees. The starting salary for any hired candidate is based on experience within salary bands.
Compensation for full-time employees includes a 403(b) plan with up to a 10% match of salary and other competitive benefits offerings. Benefits offered to eligible employees include health & dental insurance; commuter benefits; long-term disability insurance, and more.
