We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Junior Windows / Azure Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position with a strong possibility of transitioning to a full-time role based on performance.
Position Summary : As a Junior Windows / Azure Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our Windows-based systems and Azure cloud services. You will work closely with our IT team to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure by providing hands-on support, troubleshooting, and implementing best practices in system maintenance and security.
Key Responsibilities :
- Administer and support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, SCCM, DNS.
- Manage and maintain Azure cloud services, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
- Assist in managing storage solutions, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
- Support virtualization technologies, specifically HyperV, to ensure high availability and performance of virtualized systems.
- Implement and monitor system security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
- Collaborate with the IT team to plan and execute the deployment of new applications and system updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, providing timely and accurate support to end-users.
- Document IT procedures, configurations, and inventory to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base
- Ticket queue management and escalation assistance.
- Provide support for tickets that have been escalated by the Service Desk.
- Daily morning checks for system status and issues.
- File management using command line tools.
- Build small Windows servers for remote locations.
- Coordinate with other teams for replace and ship hardware to remote locations.
- Assist team members manage Active Directory objects.
- Troubleshoot issues and update license servers.
- Update servers that are missing critical Microsoft security updates.
Skills & Qualifications :
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in Windows administration and support.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory, Azure, SCCM, and
- Knowledge of storage solutions, backup strategies, and Hyper-V virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with DNS and network protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
