Job description

Job Location: Twinsburg, Ohio

Implementation of the Quality functions of the Quality Management Systems from design to test qualifications, internal production and supplier activities.
•Inspects mechanical and electrical parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies during receiving, in process, and final inspections.
•Responsible for identification, documentation, and securing of nonconforming parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies & submissions to the Material Review Board (MRB) for disposition.
•Provides inspection feedback to suppliers and other internal departments to improve overall quality.
•Assures compliance to Customer, Statutory, and Regulatory Agency (FAA, EASA, ITAR, etc...) regulations.
•Manages the Quality aspects of design activities at system level: development reviews, approves released documentation, validates Customer requirements, oversees qualification tests.
•Completions of First Article Inspection (FAI) and generation/review of documentation of FAI results in accordance with SAE AS9102.
•Support and completions of Root Cause Corrective Action analysis and implementation of corrective actions (RCCA/CAPA)
•Responsible for supporting the maintenance the Quality Management System documentation.
•Support the timely completion and documentation of the Internal Audit Process.
•Focuses on continuous improvement and consistently demonstrates good business judgment.
•Works effectively with all internal departments, customers, and Regulatory Agencies to exceed internal and external expectations for customer satisfaction.
•Works effectively with production to control priorities.
•Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
•Travel requirements: Occasional travel up to 5% (general guideline: once per year) within U.S/Outside U.S.
•Other duties may be assigned.
•Evening/night hours may be required.
•Extra hours may be required during business peak
•This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and could be subjected to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold and vibration.
•The noise level in the work environment could be unusually loud at times (protection will be provided).

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:
•Bachelor's degree & 3-5 years manufacturing experience in the field of Aerospace Quality. Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
•At least 5+ years of experience in the aerospace sector, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge/Skills Required:
•Program management fundamentals.
•New Product Development & Launch: Knowledge of the key phases and requirements of an effective new program process.
•Product development and launch system - i.e. APQP, PPAP, etc - and has basic knowledge of the associated tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Characteristic Matrix, Gage Capability, Process Capability, Process Flow.
•Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures, purchase specifications, applicable FAA regulations and contractual terms and conditions.
•Aerospace Quality Standards AS9100 / AS9102, NADCAP etc.
•Ability to use a variety of quality measurement equipment, Micrometer, Vernier's, Shadowgraph, CMM etc.
•Leadership - Ability to conceive, produce and deliver significant presentations to external customers and management.
•Proficient in use of MS Office software, Excel, Word & PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in a manufacturing environment
•AS9100 certified auditor
•FAA Authorized Release Document (8130-3's)
•Solder certification to IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610D.
•Working knowledge of SAP.
•Working knowledge and experience with ISO9001/AS9100 manufacturing environment.
•Continuous Improvement and 5S activities.
•Knowledge of the associated PPAP tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Characteristic Matrix, Gage Capability, Process Capability, and Process Flow.
•Proficient in utilization of mechanical inspection equipment including: Calipers, micrometers, Height gauges, Go/no-go gauges, Coordinated Measuring Machines Other inspection measurement tools
•Possesses working knowledge and experience in: reading, interpreting, and following engineering blue prints, process specifications, policies, procedures, and work instructions.
•Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
