Job description

Future Technologies is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our winning team.  FTI is a proven, employee-focused provider of mission-critical information systems and technical support services to government and private sector organizations worldwide. We support a wide range of professional, information technology (IT), and intelligence services, which includes acquisition, procurement, financial, international, and foreign military sales support services for the Department of Defense. Our professional team combines the technical depth, breadth and experience of a large firm with the agility, efficiency and personal service that only a smaller firm can offer. 

Location: Fairfax, VA

Clearance : None 

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

AP Functions:

• Manage the daily activities of the accounting department
• Process vouchers to include subcontractors, employee travel and office expenses
• Process checks and mailing
• Prepaid accounts reconciliation
• Prepare reconciliations for credit cards and travel advances
• Update schedules as needed: fixed assets and Prepaid
• Collect and provide information for audit inquiries and give assistance to auditors

AR Functions:

• Calculate, prepare and upload monthly billings
• Prepare and validate billing backup files and supporting schedules/information
• Prepare and analyze accounts receivable reports and coordinate collections
• Assist with month end close cycle and year-end closing
• Prepare monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable to the general ledger and review aging
• Maintain electronic and hard copies of modifications and funding update in the system

Required Education and Experience :

• Three to five years experience
• Must have knowledge with Microsoft Excel, Word and Cost Point
