Job description
The Daytona Grande Oceanfront Resort Security Officer is primarily responsible for ensuring the safety of guests, personnel, and the hotel itself. Familiarity with and compliance to the hotel’s standards and procedures is essential. This role involves keeping a close watch for suspicious, illegal, or risky activities that may be occurring on the property.The Security Officer is expected to patrol the entire property and provide room access assistance to guests when required. In addition to this, the individual must be able to manage Closed Circuit Televisions (CCTV), perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire & life safety systems. Regular foot patrol of the hotel's perimeter and common areas is also required and investigations may be conducted if necessary.The Daytona Grande Resort, a member of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts LVX Collection, is a beachfront property that sets the bar for excellence. Situated 27 stories above the ocean in Daytona Beach, the hotel offers sophisticated accommodations and remarkable service.
Responsibilities:
- Inspects and oversees the interior of the hotel premises, including grounds, corridors, garages, stairwells, lobbies, bars, and restaurants, ensuring exterior doors are locked.
- Carries out a systematic check of guest room doors to guarantee they are safely shut.
- Confirms that security detectors and CCTV cameras are in full operation.
- Sustains close observation of surveillance monitors for any unusual activity and notifies the hotel personnel and appropriate authorities accordingly.
- Records incidents that transpire and any dubious behavior.
- Hastily and politely attends to guest inquiries reported by the front desk staff.
- Delivers first aid/CPR when need be or notifies EMS in an emergency.
- Works with cops during investigations whenever necessary.
- Aids guests or employees in emergency situations.
- Takes pertinent steps to secure people and property in the event of an injury, aggression, or similar incident.
- Ejects unwelcome persons from the premises without disrupting hotel operations.
- Secures doors as needed.
- Carries out routine physical risk assessments.
- Adheres to safety and security protocols and procedures at all times.
- Quickly and politely responds to received phone calls with correct telephone etiquette and a pleasant greeting.
Qualifications:
- Must possess good communication skills and display a professional appearance.
- Must be attentive to detail and possess computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must exhibit situational awareness and a strong work ethic.
- Must demonstrate tactfulness and constant professionalism when interacting with hotel guests and team members.
- Must possess good grammar for report writing, as well as excellent customer service.
- Must maintain confidentiality in regard to guest and employee incidents.
- Must possess a hospitality-oriented demeanor.
- Former military, law enforcement, and/or security experience is preferred.
- Must have open availability to accommodate a 24-hour 7-day-a-week operation, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, push, lift, bend, reach, and climb stairs.
- Must exercise safety and security protocols and procedures at all times.
