Job description
Summary/Objective
The Quality Inspector's role is to inspect incoming parts, materials and assemblies, process DMRs and collaborate with the manufacturing teams on process and final quality inspections. The Quality Inspector is responsible for maintaining quality control in accordance with the Viking Quality System requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in process and final quality inspections
- Manage the nonconformance process through the timely creation and processing of DMR's and RMA's
- Collaborate with Purchasing on Supplier Correction Action (SCAR)
- Provide traceable verification by completing inspection documentation for all components, assemblies, and/or product lots inspected, as required by inspection documentation
- Maintain control of items in the inspection process
- Prepare necessary reports including documented test results and other statistics
- Maintain accurate electronic inspection data using the established procedure and file naming conventions
- Places product, equipment, tooling, or work activity on hold when appropriate
- Maintain a clean work area and utilizes safe working practices
- Participate in team meetings as required
- Ensure all activities are following Quality System requirements
- Collaborate with Manufacturing leadership and Design Engineering on deviations and non-conforming parts

Required Skills and Experience
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- 3-5 years of manufacturing quality control
- 2+ years of non-conformance and RMA processing
- ERP System experience, Epicor Kinetic preferred
- Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Supervisory Responsibilities
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. Will also be exposed to industrial equipment and noise.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Location
This is a full-time non-exempt position. Schedule is standard business hours. The position is based in Viking's main office location.
Travel
This position will be expected to travel to local vendors occasionally
