Plating Operator

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

• The Material Processor is responsible for coil handling which involves removing coils from skids, loading coals to the payoff, and measuring gauge and width with measuring devices

• This position sets up the designated machine including interpreting process sheets and setting machine parameters

• Responsible for operating the machine while adhering to safety requirements, quality parameters and in-process checks

• Make mechanical adjustments as needed

• Performs data entry into the SAP software system

• Maintains a clean work area

• Operate lifting devices as trained

• Other duties as assigned

Leveling operator

• The Leveling Machine Operator is responsible for coil handling which involves removing coils from skids, loading coals to the payoff, and measuring gauge and width of the material with measuring devices.

• Set up the designated leveling machine by interpreting process sheets, setting machine parameters, and using lubrication.

• Adjust and correct machine set-ups to reshape products and eliminate product defects.

• Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.

• Read production orders, blueprints, and mill schedule to determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions, and installation procedures.

• Control and observe dial indicators in order to monitor, adjust and regulate speeds of machine mechanisms.

• Collaborate with Scheduling & Maintenance departments regarding production issues

• Performs data entry into the SAP software system

Rolling Operator

• The Rolling Mill Operator is responsible for coil handling which involves removing coils from skids, loading coals to the payoff, and measuring gauge and width if the material with measuring devices.

• Set up the designated Rolling Mill including interpreting process sheets, setting machine parameters, and using lubrication.

• Adjust and correct machine set-ups to reduce thicknesses, reshape products, and eliminate product defects.

• Operate the machine while adhering to quality parameters and in-process checks

• Monitor machine cycles and mill operation to detect jamming and to ensure that products conform to specifications.

• Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.

• Read rolling orders, blueprints, and mill schedule to determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions, and installation procedures.

• Manipulate controls and observes dial indicators in order to monitor, adjust and regulate speeds of machine mechanisms.

• Set distance points between rolls, guides, meters, and stops, according to specifications.

• Thread or feed sheets through rolling mechanisms or starts and controls mechanisms that automatically feeds steel into rollers.

• Performs data entry into the SAP software system

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• At least 1+ years of previous manufacturing experience preferred

• Technical training is preferred but not required

• Experience in a metals industrial setting preferred

• Experience in use of micrometers and other precision measurement tools.

• Previous leveling machine operating experience preferred
