The Position: The Process Metallurgist, Arc Shop will work closely with quality, operations, and maintenance to ensure that optimum levels of performance are achieved for process control and product conformance to requirements.

PAY RANGE: $59,400 - $74,000

DISCRETIONARY TARGET BONUS: 12%

Responsibilities:

• Participate with quality and operations personnel on specific projects to address development, implementation, and maintenance of quality systems related to processes, materials, and products used in making the production of steel billets, rods, rebar, etc.
• Assist in the supervising of Steel Works Lab and Melt Shop Observers
• Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities in throughput, yield, safety, and other key areas.
• Champion the concept of Continuous Improvement in assigned area through application of appropriate quality tools.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Metallurgy, Material Science or equivalent degree from a four-year college or university
• Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Applications.
• Familiarization with ISO9001 and ISO17025 certification process preferred.
