Job purpose
The Sr. Manager, Corporate FP&A will serve as the primary support for the company's day-to-day execution of the Corporate FP&A operations. This individual will lead the analysis, preparation, and presentation of key business drivers and financial results to be used by the company’s CEO, CFO, Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Duties and responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of the P&L related revenue, gross profit, and operating expenses to ensure Beacon hits Adj. EBITDA targets.
- Works cross-functionally with Operations and Support functions, leading a team that provides financial analysis, forecasting and reporting, long-range planning and advice, and proactive P&L management.
- Prepares monthly forecasts, month-end reporting and analysis of forecast-to-actual results, various dashboards for Board, management and investor reporting, trend analysis, and ad hoc analysis to support management decision-making.
- Works directly with VP, Investor Relations to prepare material and analyses for quarterly earnings calls.
- Supports the field FP&A teams during the annual operating budget process.
- Develops and continuously enhances detailed monthly reporting to the Board of Directors, comparing actual financial performance vs. plan and outlook, with monthly variance analysis and insightful commentary.
- Develops finance and business presentations such as Board of Director presentations, Executive Committee presentations and presentations to external constituents.
- Develops and manages the organization’s budget process, rolling forecast and long-range plans.
- Drives the development and maintenance of methodologies used for organizational reporting, ensuring overall consistency and reporting integrity, acting as the key interface with FP&A teams embedded in the field operating divisions.
- Provides leadership on metric definitions and analytic methodologies to assess key business value drivers.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive experience in Finance or related roles
- Prior corporate FP&A experience with a publicly traded company strongly desired
- BS Finance/Business/Accounting. MBA preferred
- Superior and demonstrated leadership, team building, communication, presentation, interpersonal, and coaching skills and the ability to ensure accountability
- Advanced proficiency in Excel modeling, financial scenario development and a deep understanding of complex financial concepts
- Advanced knowledge of accounting/financial principles and practices required
- Superior strategic thinking and financial analysis skills; well-developed problem-solving skills with an ability to identify “what matters” and recommend actions to address the problem or opportunity
- Demonstrated ability to make the complex simple, and to influence cross-functional colleagues
- Excellent verbal and written communication, content creation and presentation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior executives
- Must be a motivated, goal-oriented self-starter and comfortable with fast-paced demanding environment
- Must manage multiple tasks and juggle several urgent demands at any given point, including evenings and weekends as necessary, while adapting to changing priorities
Working conditions
- Moderate travel requirements as needed for business purposes
- There is a strong preference for this role to be in DC, MD or VA. Flexibility will be afforded to complete some work assignments remotely.
