Job Summary:
Pegasus is looking for Lead Ground Service Technicians to join our team of outstanding professionals! The Lead Ground Service Equipment Technicians are responsible for overseeing all of the ground support equipment maintenance programs and assisting the company meet goals through the provision of services specific to Pegasus. The Lead GSE will also maintain, repair, perform maintenance (preventive and on-demand) on aircraft ground support equipment (motorized and non-motorized, gasoline and diesel fueled) if needed.
The Lead GSE position is a support services position whose work routine is established and follows a set of procedures. It generally functions under close supervisory direction or guidance of the GSE Manager. Apply today!
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees and provides safe and efficient operations for GSE Repairs
- Coordinates Tech 1,2 and 3 maintenance activities during their respective shifts
- Proficient at Operating ground service equipment (GSE)
- Trouble-shoots mechanical problems on GSE and coordinates repairs
- Operates aircraft de-icing equipment and participate in deicing events
- Repairs electric/hydraulic systems and able to read electrical/hydraulic schematics
- Coordinates and assists with Emergency repair calls while on duty
- Duties include, but not limited to, troubleshooting, tune-up, repair and overhaul of power-plant, drive-train, electric and hydraulic systems
- Helps improves the reliability of the equipment through improvements in preventive and predictive maintenance programs
- Uses systems that track/ trend equipment performance to identify and proactively address reliability issues. Ensure their team completes data entry requirements for work completed
- Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the GSE work areas at all times
- Observes safe ground handling procedures and maintenance of ground handling equipment, including the performance of equipment checks
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor and Manager
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S.
- High School graduate or GED
- 5 years of experience in the industrial/automotive maintenance field
- Must be willing to work in inclement weather
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift 60 pounds comfortably
- Able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English
- Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints
- Must be a self-starter and willing to take the initiative
- Able and willing to work without direct supervision
- Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules
- Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history and pre-employment drug test
- Accept all other assigned duties as a team
- Language Skills:
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics
- Write routine reports and correspondence
- Speak effectively one-to-one and before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Math skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Reasoning Abilities:
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form
- Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Physical Demands:
- The GSE on occasion may lift or move with help up to 200 pounds, and/or more frequently lift or move 70 to 100 pounds, and constantly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- The GSE is regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, stoop, kneel, and is frequently required to stand, walk.
- The GSE may be required to climb, sit, and balance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
- The GSE is usually working outside and is exposed to all types of weather conditions with a seasonal range of temperatures which include rain, snow, wind and extreme temperatures.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can vary dramatically depending on location and time of day. Occasionally high noise levels where hearing protection is required and provided.
