Pre-Owned Manager
We are seeking a Pre-Owned Manager to join our team at LeadCar Toyota Mankato located in Mankato, MN. As the Pre-Owned Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all dealership variable operations including finance, new and used departments to ensure profitability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the pre-owned vehicle inventory including acquisition, pricing, merchandising, and reconditioning processes.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to maximize sales and profitability in the variable operations department.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences to adjust pricing and inventory strategies accordingly.
- Provide training, coaching, and support to staff to enhance their skills and performance in vehicle sales and customer service.
- Lead a team of sales professionals, acquisitions specialists, and reconditioning staff to ensure high performance and customer satisfaction.
- Provide the sales team with the necessary tools and support to achieve their objectives by giving them regular updates on used vehicle inventory, marketing efforts, and special offers.
- Develop and maintain relationships with wholesalers, auctions, and other sources for acquiring pre-owned inventory.
- Implement and enforce dealership policies and procedures related to vehicle sales, trade-ins, and financing.
- Collaborate with other departments such as finance, service, parts, and body shop to optimize overall dealership performance.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to vehicle sales and dealership operations.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to appraisals, inventory turnover, merchandising, stocking guidelines, gross profit, and pricing by utilizing the dealership sales control systems (CRM / vAuto).
- Understands and adheres to Toyota Certified Used Vehicle guidelines and policies, along with all other factory-sponsored programs.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in automotive sales and management, preferably in a pre-owned vehicle department.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and profitability goals.
- Strong understanding of automotive market trends, pricing strategies, and inventory management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a team and foster a positive work environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in dealership management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
