Job description
BAE Systems is looking for experienced candidates with interest in leading one of our Production teams. In Controls & Avionics Solutions, you will have the opportunity to help support employees who manufacture high reliability electronic controls to include but not limited to Fly-By-Wire Flight Controls, Cabin and Cockpit Systems. The qualified individual will have the opportunity to lead, support, and positively influence new production in Fort Wayne Indiana, while working with sub-assembly builds from Guaymas Mexico. Candidates will need to demonstrate technical capability and strong interpersonal/leadership skills in order to ensure that the full team is aligned and executing to business requirements, customer needs, driving quality improvement and operational performance. Mentoring and developing employees is critical to ensuring our team members feel valued and appreciated.
As a Product Center Leader you will make impacts in the following ways: - Lead and drive a proactive safety culture
- Lead actions to optimize interactions between Circuit Card Assembly Teams
- Develop and drive operational strategies
- Support actions related to product transitions between Fort Wayne and Guaymas Mexico
- Provide operational input to overall business strategy
- Identify and drive development needs - coach and mentor team members as required
- Establish effective a communications framework across team
- Proactively support quality initiatives, including test yields and defect reduction
- Develop and drive strategies to increase productivity/efficiency, and reduce process waste. Embed continuous improvement into all business activities and processes.
- Participate in annual operations planning for the business
- Report on product cost, gross margin, and team initiatives to support business goals
- Develop and present effective communications and presentations for customer engagement
- Collaborate with other leaders to standardize common processes

- Direct experience leading operations teams
- 8 years of experience in electronic manufacturing
- Strong technical aptitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and experience Business Planning activities
- Knowledge and experience in manufacturing process flow and strategies
- Passion for understanding and eliminating process bottlenecks and waste
- Understanding of material and supply chain logistic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Applications
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills - Direct experience developing strategic goals, as well as motivating the team to achieve
- Lean manufacturing training and certification
- Experience leading a six sigma culture
- Experience in material and supply chain logistics
- Experience in transitioning production from one site to another
- Direct experience in business planning activities
Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $103590 - $176130
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
