Job description
Position Summary :
The Product Line and Creation Manager for the accessories category is responsible for the cross-functional coordination, management and execution of all accessory products, printed materials and supporting assets to fulfill all business needs. This position will work with the Senior Category Manager, VP Product Creation, CMO and design team to produce best in class product while maintaining a clear, focused and profitable global product line and business.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities: - Manage 3-year detailed and 5-year high-level global product line calendar and provide updates with global regions, operations, purchasing, R&D, ecommerce teams and US strategic account representatives.
- Identifies growth opportunities and new product potential, in both technologies and new categories. Responsible for product creation brief development and product creation in alignment with Senior Category Manager and product development team.
- Manage global sample needs with all global sales, product, engineering & marketing stakeholders. Manage sample inventory receipt, organization, and storage including the showroom and storage area.
- Create packaging and hangtag creative and copy briefs for necessary projects on time and on budget to align with product brief.
- Maintain an expert knowledge of Accessories products for training presentations and product inquires.
- Collaborate with Senior Category Manager, producers, and other internal teams for all marketing collateral, including POS, promotional sell sheets, and all go to market product marketing materials.
- Manage all SMU requests and SMU product creation - drive development process and provide weekly status updates in product log meetings. SMU projects include but are not limited to Misc. Global needs, Marketing, Tour, and Strategic Account requests.
- Work with Advanced Analytics teams in the preparation, execution, and evaluation of consumer research.
- Organize and lead a global accessories product summit, to collect product feedback from the global regions, sales reps, strategic accounts and staff professionals.
- Work with Global operations and planning to seamlessly execute a year over year go to market strategy. Provide a complete and up to date line list to insure all data has been communicated thoroughly.
- Assist with planning and execution of product summits, pre-lines, and sales meetings for the category.
- In alignment with category strategic direction, liaise with global regions to develop initiatives for different retail channels. Host accessories bi-weekly global conference calls and manage follow up emails / phone calls accordingly.
- Assist in the creation of the current and future product strategies based on competitive activity, market gaps, insights and customer requirements to achieve revenue growth and margin goals for the category.
- Maintain general understanding of category financial goals to help in prioritization of projects and to help in communication with internal inquiries (ie: margin targets for in-line vs. SMU, total revenue generated by SMU orders, etc.). Assist in forecasting as needed.
- Provides ongoing leadership, mentoring and management of coordinator position including goal setting, strategy and motivation to perform.
PRODUCT CREATION
- Lead the product creation deliverables for all globally ranged, tour, and SMU products.
- Work with design and development teams to produce best in class product, which is in line with the brief and business need.
- Garner feedback and approvals from Senior Category Manager, VP Product Creation, Global Product Managers, and Senior Leadership through the creation process.
INSIGHTS AND TESTING
- Coordinate a constant testing and feedback program comprised of external golfers, HPS and employees while generating frequent reports to be used in product and collateral creation.
- Manage accessory benchmark testing (including recruiting internal and external testers), development of tests, organization of testing documents, analysis of results and communication of testing to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Maintain network of product testers in order to ensure business needs are being met in a timely manner, removing testers who consistently under deliver on testing requirements.
- Maintain an ongoing and thorough knowledge of competitive products, marketing activities, and consumer trends to identify customer needs and opportunities.
- Researches and analyzes competitor and market product, consumer and competitive trends, while identifying customer needs & opportunities
- Performs other related duties and assignments as requested.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements: - Passionate golfer, understands the industry and consumers.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Data and insight driven mentality.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, evaluate, and effectively present ideas and concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to attend to multiple concurrent tasks and meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal skills suited to dealing courteously and professionally with external business contacts and among many functions within the TM organization.
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications: - Bachelor's degree required in Business Management, Marketing, Advertising, or other related field
- 5+ years of directly related experience with 1-2 years' experience in Product Marketing, Product Line Management, Communication with a corporate or agency setting
- Experience with soft goods preferred.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements: - Office conditions, heavy computer use
- Occasional travel required
- Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials
- Able to work overtime and/or extended hours as required
TaylorMade is a performance driven organization and our total rewards approach to compensation is designed to support this. We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location. The expected annual base pay range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
