Job description
The Information Technology (IT) Director is responsible for supporting and executing a range of information technology and cybersecurity-related activities of the Company to help achieve the company's mission and growth goals. The company employs a cloud-first strategy across its IT ecosystems. The IT Director is responsible for managing and guiding those solutions to ensure CND’s usage of key services are secure, compliant, optimised, and cost-effective. As the lead of the IT department who interfaces with the company's senior technology consultant, the IT Director collaborates closely with most organisational functions of the Company, including Sales, Clinical Services, Pathology, Laboratory Operations, Research and Development, Billing Services, and management, as well as the service providers who are responsible for the performance and quality of various initiatives. The IT Director monitors IT operations, manages IT projects and guides leadership on technology-related matters. Given the critical nature of the role, the IT Director will be expected to work on-site in Scottsdale, AZ headquarters.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other team members to create and maintain an effective and optimised process for each departmental team and staff
- Grow and expand cybersecurity programs with assistance from outside IT service providers
- Monitor and ensure the company networks, processes, and solutions meet industry, state, and local compliance, including executing an annual HIPAA Security Assessment and remediation
- Monitor and manage the employee onboarding and off-boarding processes as related to information technology (hardware, software, etc.)
- Collaborate with outside consultants and management on the maintenance and development of IT-related policies, procedures, and standards
- Serve as an ongoing support resource for the business's day-to-day use of technology solutions and processes; monitor use and effectiveness of existing technology and recommend solution and process improvements
- Develop and implement a full digital pathology infrastructure in collaboration with the Research & Development team
- Develop and report IT status reports as requested by management, including the monthly Pathology Quality Assurance report, on a weekly and monthly basis
- Monitor the performance of third-party partners, vendors, and suppliers
- Research and recommend hardware, software, cloud, and third-party solutions and services as needed
- Plan and track IT-related activities and projects
- Collaborate with third-party IT partners, suppliers and other agencies on IT-related projects and process improvements
- Collaborating with the senior technology consultant, update the COO, CEO, and other company leaders on the current status of technology at the Company as well as tactical and strategic initiatives and programs
- Generate weekly and monthly IT help desk and quality assurance metrics showing all company incidents, requests, and outages, including root cause analysis and problem resolution statements with assistance from outside IT providers and other team members
- Support ongoing development of the company’s website (corporate and product) in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience managing IT projects and program administration for a small company. Familiarity and competency with Microsoft 365 suite of applications and capabilities tools
- Experience working in a high-growth company required
- Experience working in a medical diagnostics environment is highly preferred
- Experience with managing IT-related contracts
- Experience in discovering, planning, and implementing optimised business processes
- Experience in managing planning and managing projects, desired
- Familiarity and knowledge with networking related concepts
- Understanding of the life sciences industry is a plus
- Knowledge of healthcare markets and an understanding of clinician and patient customer needs and dynamics is also a plus
- Strong interest in working in a start-up environment and the ability to take on a range of work at once
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills and ability to present to company colleagues and leaders
- Understanding of ITIL terminology and concepts, desired
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work, including achieving assigned timelines for deliverables
- Proactive work style and willingness to take initiative (with proper guidance from managers)
- Professionalism and dedication to respecting colleagues, customers, partners, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Have a passion for learning new things
- Comfortable working in a laboratory environment
