Position Overview: As a Financial Analyst with expertise in DoD or federal government financial practices, you will play a critical role in budgeting, financial planning, and analysis. This position requires a deep understanding of the PPBE process, attention to detail, and the ability to provide valuable insights to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
PPBE Process:
- Apply comprehensive knowledge of the Program, Planning, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process in the federal government.
- Contribute to the development and execution of budgetary plans.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support budgeting and resource allocation decisions.
- Analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics.
Budget Development:
- Assist in the preparation, formulation, and justification of budget submissions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather budgetary requirements.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare regular financial reports and variance analyses.
- Communicate financial results and provide insights to leadership.
Forecasting and Planning:
- Support long-term financial planning and forecasting activities.
- Provide input on financial implications of strategic initiatives.
Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure compliance with federal financial regulations and guidelines.
- Stay updated on changes in government financial policies.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess financial risks.
- Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks and uncertainties.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program managers, accountants, and procurement specialists.
- Provide financial expertise to support program success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience as a Financial Analyst with a focus on DoD or federal government financial processes.
- In-depth understanding of the PPBE process.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of federal financial regulations and compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
