Department Summary:
The Department of English strives to promote a greater understanding of literature and culture; to add to literary tradition by fostering new works of poetry, fiction and nonfiction; to innovate in writing instruction; and to investigate the history of persuasive writing.

UNT has a highly diverse campus with a wide range of languages spoken in addition to English. We welcome candidates who have experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
Position Summary:
The Department of English is seeking a Lecturer in English which will be a three-year, renewable full-time position. Responsibilities for the position include teaching four courses each semester and providing service to the department.This position includes a competitive salary and includes benefits.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in English, Composition Studies, or related field. Demonstrated excellence in first-year writing instruction. Preparedness to teach at an HSI and MSI institution.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or expertise teaching developmental writing
Additional experience or expertise teaching literature, language arts, rhetoric and communication, and / or creative writing
Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate
