Job description
We are looking for an Assistant Service Manager to join our company. This role would oversee the service department in our Paterson location. This role will assist with the daily operations and work to ensure all service needs for our Field Technicians and Mechanics are met. The role will report to the Director of Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the service department.
- Maintaining the tool crib and all company tools.
- Assure adequate manpower and supplies are available to complete work assignments.
- Resolve issues regarding parts or manpower shortages.
- Assist sales staff with pricing, labor requirements, and job quoting.
- Assess departmental performance regarding quality of work and customer satisfaction.
- Analyze warranty issues to identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure proper safety training and standards are in place, and that safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Oversee review of in-progress and completed jobs to verify the scope of work completed appropriately and safely.
- Identify, address, and implement employee development and training opportunities.
Requirements:
- Ten years of experience machinery and equipment industry.
- Five years of experience in a managerial role.
- Good organization skills and able to follow a systematic method of performing a task.
- Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
- Good communicate in writing clearly and concisely.
- Able to problem solve.
- Ability to take care of the Service needs while following company procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong technical product knowledge is required.
- Ability to utilize laptop computers and portable diagnostic tools required.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
- Mandatory Pre-employment drug testing.
