Archbishop Murphy High School is seeking a Controller to oversee the school's business office. The position will be open until filled. This position reports directly to the President of the school.
Qualifications
BA/BS in Accounting, Business, or related field;
CPA preferred but not required;
Ten years of experience is required, with five years minimum in a managerial role;
Non-profit experience preferred but not required;
High level of proficiency in Quickbooks and MS Office;
Must have excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Salary Range: $82,000 - $100,000 Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.

Essential Functions
- Provide financial reports for management and board to help improve operational efficiency and aid in the school's continued growth;
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and safeguards;
- Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards;
- Maintain accurate and proper general ledger chart of accounts;
- Supervise the Business Office/HR Manager;
- Provide monthly financial statements to the President and Board/Finance Committee to ensure timely reporting;
- Monitor cash flow;
- Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget;
- Responsible for annual budget preparation (including payroll and benefits), implementation, and monitoring, with updates to the President and Board/Finance Committee;
- Responsible for scheduling the annual audit and providing auditors with necessary documentation;
- Responsible for oversight of monthly payroll processing, quarterly federal tax reports, quarterly labor and Industries reports, quarterly US Tax reports, and pension contributions, as well as year-end reports including W-2s, 1099's, and 1095's;
- Prepare Compliance Reports and IRS 5500 for the school's 403(b) Pension;
- Maintain relationships with banks, audit firms, and insurance brokers;
- Oversee both benefit and commercial insurance renewals;
- Oversee and review the ASB, Athletic fundraising, Parents Association, Fine Arts Council, and DECA accounts;
- Prepare, post, and reconcile all investment activity and related accounting entries and prepare all associated spreadsheets and analyses;
- Provide input and assistance with tuition awards;
- Manage the collection of past due tuition and fees;
- Attend Finance Committee meetings, as well as Board of Trustees meetings when requested to do so, and present financial results for the period at both Committee meetings;
- Prepare and maintain long-term forecasting - at least five years up to 10 years;
- Continue the ongoing process of streamlining budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes;
- Oversee leases;
23. Working with the HR Manager for the following:
- Listings for open positions; applications; interviews; and applicant communications;
- Completion of new employee paperwork, background checks, and new hire reporting;
- Preparation of employee annual intent to return, contracts, and letters of agreement;
- Benefits include open enrollment and benefit changes;
- Employee benefit coverage and federal benefit compliance reports with insurance broker;
- Yearly employee compensation statements;
- Sent early staff evaluation forms to staff/managers and return completed forms;
- Organization and management of personnel files;
24. Complete other duties as assigned by the President.
Qualifications
