Position: Controller Posted: January 8, 2024 Closes: Until Filled Start Date: TBD Archbishop Murphy High School is seeking a Controller to oversee the school's business office. The position will be open until filled. This position reports directly to the President of the school. Qualifications BA/BS in Accounting, Business, or related field; CPA preferred but not required; Ten years of experience is required, with five years minimum in a managerial role; Non-profit experience preferred but not required; High level of proficiency in Quickbooks and MS Office; Must have excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills; Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality. Salary Range: $82,000 - $100,000 Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.   1. Provide financial reports for management and board to help improve operational efficiency and aid in the school's continued growth;
  2. Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and safeguards;
  3. Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards;
  4. Maintain accurate and proper general ledger chart of accounts;
  5. Supervise the Business Office/HR Manager;
  6. Provide monthly financial statements to the President and Board/Finance Committee to ensure timely reporting;
  7. Monitor cash flow;
  8. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget;
  9. Responsible for annual budget preparation (including payroll and benefits), implementation, and monitoring, with updates to the President and Board/Finance Committee;
  10. Responsible for scheduling the annual audit and providing auditors with necessary documentation;
  11. Responsible for oversight of monthly payroll processing, quarterly federal tax reports, quarterly labor and Industries reports, quarterly US Tax reports, and pension contributions, as well as year-end reports including W-2s, 1099's, and 1095's;
  12. Prepare Compliance Reports and IRS 5500 for the school's 403(b) Pension;
  13. Maintain relationships with banks, audit firms, and insurance brokers;
  14. Oversee both benefit and commercial insurance renewals;
  15. Oversee and review the ASB, Athletic fundraising, Parents Association, Fine Arts Council, and DECA accounts;
  16. Prepare, post, and reconcile all investment activity and related accounting entries and prepare all associated spreadsheets and analyses;
  17. Provide input and assistance with tuition awards;
  18. Manage the collection of past due tuition and fees;
  19. Attend Finance Committee meetings, as well as Board of Trustees meetings when requested to do so, and present financial results for the period at both Committee meetings;
  20. Prepare and maintain long-term forecasting - at least five years up to 10 years;
  21. Continue the ongoing process of streamlining budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes;
  22. Oversee leases;

  6. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality;
  7. Proficiency with MS Office and QuickBooks.
