Job Title: Purchasing Administrator
Location: New Orleans, LA 70130
Duration: 6 Months
Shift: 8:00AM 5:00PM
Responsibilities:
- The Purchasing Administrator procures plant supplies, gift shop merchandise, and facilities supplies for the company.
- Maintains control of purchase orders ensuring the accuracy of entry, delivery, billing, recording, and receiving.
- Negotiates contracts for outsides services for facilities and janitorial services.
- Continually ensure cost savings and maximization of benefits through suppliers. Compare costs to provide the best quality items to meet the company's needs in a timely fashion.
- Impacts daily operations by processing requisitions and expediting delivery on services and products.
- Receives and coordinates deliveries to the company and storage warehouse for gift shop merchandise and plant supplies. Maintains storage warehouse organized and inventoried.
- Interacts with internal and external customers in procuring requested items on time and at the best price and quality, also ensuring accuracy of billing and payments. Works throughout the company to purchase services, repair parts, shipping supplies, office equipment and supplies as well as services such as trash, vending and cleaning supplies. Maintains relationships internally and externally via frequent communication.
- Develop the skills needed to attain the desired career path within the organization. Individuals are responsible for identifying their own career goals and communicating to their supervisor.
- Continually ensure cost savings quoting items and services, without sacrificing quality. Drives savings through cost comparisons. Catalogs supplier's offerings, using information to optimize the purchasing for the company. Assists with inventories of gift shop merchandise and plant supplies. Maintains inventory controls of products and merchandise at the storage warehouse.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Meticulous, highly organized.
- Skilled proficiency in MS Office Products. (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Ability to communicate with all levels of an org.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 5 years' relevant experience. (minimum)
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2 years' experience in Customer Service or Consumer Affairs.
- 2 years' Experience with inventory control, perpetual inventory, and budget process.
- 2 years' experience in purchasing materials for food/beverage/ or packaged goods manufacturing.
- Experience with Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivables.
