Job description
WHAT WE NEED:
Process Engineer
Sigma Engineers and Constructors is seeking a Process Engineer who will be responsible for performing all aspects of process design and development for various industries within the refining and specialty chemicals sectors. Requires effective communication with all levels of company personnel and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct process engineering analysis and design for various projects in all industry sectors.
- Collaborate with clients to gather project requirements and develop process engineering solutions that meet their needs.
- Perform process simulations, line hydraulics, modeling, and optimization studies using industry-standard software.
- Perform relief valve sizing calculations and contribute to pressure safety valve (PSV) selection, documentation, and mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and review process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and process design specifications.
- Develop process design packages, including equipment specifications, process descriptions, and operating manuals.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams.
- Conduct equipment sizing and selection, including pumps, control valves, flow elements, compressors, heat exchangers, and reactors.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure interdisciplinary coordination and integration of project deliverables.
- Mentor and guide junior process engineers, providing technical knowledge and professional development support.
- Assist in the review and approval of process engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards, company standards and client requirements (checking).
WHO WE NEED:
- Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical, Petroleum, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of demonstrated Process Engineering experience in the energy, chemical and/or oil and gas sectors.
- Familiarity with the Process simulation software (Aspen Suite) and hydraulic modeling software (AFTFathom/PipeFlo), as well as proficiency with basic programs such as Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- PE preferred but not required.
