The Company
Our Client is a manufacturer of highvolume carbon/graphite components and molded thermoset parts that are used in a wide variety of electrical mechanical and thermal applications. We are located in Menomonee Falls and have 90 employees. Although we operate independently we are part of the Schunk Group a worldwide company headquartered in Germany with 1.4 billion in sales annually and diverse operations in 28 different countries.
The Opportunity
Be part of a team who really like where they work! We have an opening for a motivated and energetic Cost Accountant with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Our Accounting Team consists of 4 people in total.
Qualifications
- 3 5 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Accounting degree or equivalent experience
- Strong computer skills including SAP and Excel
Essential Job Functions (JobSpecific Knowledge/Skills)
- Cycle counting and inventory reporting
- Perform standard costs update including updating labor/machine and overhead costs
- Analyze cost of goods sold and explain variances to plan and historical
- Analyzes changes in raw materials manufacturing methods or services provided to determine effects on costs
- Review and understand monthend cost related variances including PPV material labor scrap and overhead absorption
- Implement and maintain monthly internal reporting package
- Provides administrative and/or analytical support for capital projects as necessary
- Perform detailed general ledger account analysis for inventory and capital equipment accounts
- Analyze manufacturing and cost data; convert data into relevant insights and actionable recommendations
- Review existing processes and recommend process improvements to gain efficiency
- Assist with monthend & yearend closing and external audits as needed
- Other special projects or necessary duties as required for harmonious business business growth and working relationships
