Job description
Provides pre-award Research Administration services for the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources in the AgBioResearch Office of Research Support (ABR.ORS) and contributes to unit needs, related to internal research proposals, as needed. Works with PI to prepare grant proposal development packages; coordinates process and timeline for proposal submission including budget and justification development, budget review, subcontracts, conflict of interest, indirect cost rates, cost sharing, among others; balances multiple, complex proposal projects at one time. Reviews sponsor requirements and monitors proposals for completeness and accuracy; facilitates communication with investigators, subcontractors, and the Office of Sponsored Programs to assure policies and procedures are followed and deadlines are met. Contributes to management of unit internal research programs, as needed. Participates in development and implementation of college level policies; provides expert support and information to faculty and staff in units, schools and institutes relating to research administration; serves as college representative on research administration committees; participates in orientations and training sessions related to Pre-Award Administration. This position is remote friendly with the expectation of 100% remote work, at this time.
The job requires: knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Business administration, Finance, or a research-related field; five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in research administration including the area of pre or post award processes, or related field such as regulatory administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This job requires Essentials of Research Administration at MSU Certificate series or equivalent.
