How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:   
Under the general direction of the Senior Manager of the Office of Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), the Sr. Project Manager, TOD in the TOD Office will serve as the Metropolitan Council's lead negotiator and manager for select TOD projects, including joint development projects. To this end, the Sr Project Manager will perform highly responsible professional work in planning, implementing, and coordinating TOD and joint development projects and advancing TOD for the Council. The Sr Project Manager will also support the Senior Manager in establishing strategies and business practices to make the Office of TOD efficient, effective, and transparent.

 
Note: This position is eligible for a hybrid (both remote and onsite) telework arrangement. The candidate's permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

Any of the following combinations of completed education in real estate urban & regional planning, business management, marketing, finance, transportation, public administration, law or related field AND progressively responsible experience in real estate development, including finance, due diligence, market analysis and project management. Demonstrated experience in land use planning and/or transit-oriented development with a public and/or private agency or closely related field:

Work Environment:
Work is performed in a standard office setting. Some positions may require travel between primary work site and other sites.

If you are new to the Metropolitan Council , you must pass a drug test (safety sensitive positions only), and a background check which verifies education, employment, and criminal history. A driving record check and/or physical may be conducted if applicable to the job. If you have a criminal conviction, you do not automatically fail. The Metropolitan Council considers felony, gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor convictions on a case-by-case basis, based on whether they are related to the job and whether the candidate has demonstrated adequate rehabilitation.

 
If you are already an employee of the Metropolitan Council , you must pass a drug test (if moving from a non-safety sensitive position to a safety sensitive position) and criminal background check if the job you're applying for is safety sensitive, is a supervisory or management job, is in the Finance, Information Services, Audit, or Human Resources departments, or has access to financial records, files/databases, cash, vouchers or transit fare cards.
