Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Summary: As the Warehouse Supervisor you manage and communicate with warehouse staff in the day-to-day operations, warehouse-related activities, and leading inventory and cycle counting activities within their department in manufacturing. This will include planning and leading activities of production personnel and coordinating workflow to ensure inventory and cycle counting goals are achieved.
This will include supporting established procedures and providing recommendations to leadership for process improvements. The Warehouse Supervisor maintains the production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory; delivering production materials and supplies; and staging finished products. The ideal candidate will expedite the flow of products and components through production in an efficient and accurate manner.
Responsibilities: As Warehouse Supervisor You will:
- Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording the location of inventory.
- Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
- Document materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and the location of units.
- Handle allocate and transfer materials needed to maintain an efficient flow of material through the operation.
- Maintain productivity by monitoring steps of the process and staff; set processing variables; observe control points and equipment; monitor personnel and resources.
- Keep the warehouse clean and organized.
- Maintain safe and effective storage practices.
- Conduct cycle counts as requested.
- Lead and participate in inventory.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures relating to quality, health, and safety.
- Properly use and maintain equipment and materials for which the warehouse has responsibility.
- Prioritize and assign workload to meet multiple schedules based on available resources.
- Make recommendations to increase production, asset capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
- Support efforts to implement cost reductions, including recommendations for appropriate needs on overtime and manpower requirements.
- Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
- Provide coaching and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
- Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and participate in the selection of new staff.
- Provide recommendations to develop plant staff, overall performance, and corrective actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you:
- High school diploma with relevant experience in the field OR Associate’s Degree in a related field.
- 3-5 years of plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as; Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc. to drive improvement.
- Proficient in current computer software: MS Applications Word, Excel, and understanding of ERP systems.
- Performing basic shop math calculations (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying, measuring, and converting decimals) is something you are experienced in.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Outstanding oral communication skills including tack and diplomacy which would be utilized during customer service, conflict management, and development of relationships with internal and external contact.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and diverse projects including, analytical thinking, planning, prioritizing, problem-solving, decision making, and carrying out assigned projects with minimal supervision.
- Must handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
- Familiar with general manufacturing concepts is a plus.
- Must be able to drive a fork truck, and sit/stand repeatedly.
- Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for up to 12 hours a day is something you can handle.
