Job description
Job Title:
Buyer/Scheduler
Reports to:
General Manager
General Description:
Administers the purchasing of raw materials, components and services according to approved specifications at the most favorable cost consistent with quality, quantity and availability. Analyzes trends to determine timing and extent of purchase commitments. Expedites/delays deliveries thru the use of reports and vendor communication.
Responsibilities:
- Buyer (60%)
- Obtain quotes on current raw material
- Place purchase orders for raw materials
- Place purchase orders for outside services
- Follow-up on all purchase orders as needed
- Expediting (15%)
- Work with Production Manager and customer service on expediting requests from customers that require material delivery adjustments
- Notify Customer Service when completion date differs from work order
- Scheduler (15%)
- Assist in keeping the production schedule current
- Work with Customer Service on lead times and due dates
- Maintain raw material locations
- Communicate schedules changes with all departments
- Close work orders in ERP System
- Assists Shipping Department as needed (5%)
- Other duties as required

Job Qualification Requirements:
- Knowledge
- Associates Degree preferred, minimum three years related experience
- Expected Training Period
- Machines, Tools, Equipment
- PC/computer programs, proficient in Microsoft Excel, knowledge in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Access
- Information/Directions
- Verbal and written instructions
