Job description
Holliday Rock is seeking experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our fleet maintenance team.
Holliday Rock has been in the constructions material business for eighty years and is one of the largest independent producers of aggregate, concrete and asphalt in the United States.
The Diesel Mechanic performs all engine and emission maintenance as well as repairs on all trucks and equipment and where necessary, can perform all drive train component work, as well as suspension and steering systems repairs and maintenance on heavy duty trucks. Experience with concrete mixer trucks is a plus.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Removes components for repair or replacement such as, but not limited to, injector, starters, water pumps, radiators, brakes, etc
- Knowledge of a vehicles engine, emission systems, transmission, hydraulic and electrical systems to perfom preventive and repair maintenance functions, on site and on the road
- Engine chassis repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of vehicle body control system, including hydraulics and electrical systems to maintain and repair the vehicles in a timely and safe manner
- Knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems to effectively diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems in the vehicles in a timely and safe manner
- Safely operating welding tools to repair heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner to ensure the equipment is back in an operable condition as quickly and safely as possible
- Identify the source of the malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools
- Ensure fleet meets DOT regulations and safety standards, preventative maintenance
- Knowledge of concrete readymix trucks, pneumatic truck and trailer, Cummins Engine and emission systems
Qualifications and Requirements
- Available to work overtime as needed and be availble to work swing shift
- At least 2 years of prior experience as a technician working on heavy duty trucks and equipment
- Knowledge in air brakes and tires
- Training in hydraulics and electrical training
- Suspension, steering and wheel-end components training
- Drive train knowledge
