Highway-Civil Lead Engineer Location Hybrid remote in Fairfield, NJ :

We are looking for an experienced Highway/Civil Engineer, who can effectively provide the technical expertise and project management skills to lead all Highway and Civil efforts undertaken by the firm. A New Jersey Professional Engineering license is required. Licenses in New York or Pennsylvania are a plus. This is a hybrid and salaried position.
Role Description:
Highway and Roadway Engineering
- Develop highway and roadway plans, including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross section elements, drainage, etc. to assist heavy highway contractors in their construction efforts or as value engineering alternatives to ongoing projects.
- Prepare Maintenance and Protection of Traffic Plans, construction staging schemes, traffic control plans, detour plans and similar designs.
- Familiar with AASHTO Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, New Jersey Department of Transportation Highway Design Manual and New Jersey Turnpike Highway Design guidelines.
- Familiar with plan presentation and preparation in accordance with New Jersey Department of Transportation and New Jersey Turnpike Authority standards and guidelines.
Civil & Site Engineering
- Prepare full site design documents for various residential, commercial and industrial sites, including site plans, grading & drainage plans, utility plans, lighting plans, landscaping plans and ancillary construction.
- Familiar with NJDEP Stormwater Management Best Management Practices and experience with development stormwater management designs and calculations utilizing Green Infrastructure methods.
- Familiar with various New Jersey zoning and development ordinances, and experience researching and applying zoning restrictions and standards.
- Experience with expert testimony before various local land use boards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited college is required.
- New Jersey Professional Engineering license required. New York and/or Pennsylvania licenses a plus, but not required.
- Candidates should possess strong writing and communication skills and be proficient in AutoCAD and standard office productivity software. Familiarity with various design software a plus.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
