Role Summary

The Senior Sales Manager, Leisure Sales is responsible for identifying and sourcing leisure business in accordance with the collection’s strategic plan to maximize room revenue during peak and nonpeak periods. Senior Sales Manager, Leisure Sales reports directly to the Area Director of Sales and works closely with the revenue team to ensure that the leisure sales strategy is in line with the properties business needs. The position currently represents 1 Auberge Resorts in Napa Valley, Stanly Ranch. The position is home based, with location preference in East Coast


Core Responsibilities

  1. Oversee account and production goals in the assigned region.

  2. Support the collection revenue goals by generating leisure business at each hotel 

  3. Organize and schedule direct sales efforts via phone, email and in person... Average of 5 prospecting efforts per day are expected. (25 per week) 

  4. Evaluate and initiate opportunities for developing new sources of business.

  5. Plan and execute a 12 month strategic business plan.

  6. Play a key role in the development of the hotels leisure marketing plan

  7. Build effective relationships with consortia accounts - AMEX FHR, Virtuoso, Signature, etc

  8. Build effective relationships with luxury travel agents in assigned territory.

  9. Visit, present and effectively communicate the Napa Valley resorts to assigned territory.

  10. Support the hotels wholesale account strategy

  11. Support and participate in weekly Revenue Management Calls, scheduled conference calls with Area Director of Sales and property specific calls as needed.

  12. The current territory for this position is the entire United States. East of the Mississippi river or East of Texas We can be flexible with this. 

  13. Abide by policies and procedure of Auberge Resorts.

  14. Maintain ethical and professional standards of sales service.

  15. Maintain professional appearance and demeanor and to conduct personal behavior in a mature and professional business manner while representing the company.

  16. Travel and work flexible days and hours.

  17. Keep department heads informed of problems so as to ensure prompt correction and ensure guest satisfaction.

  18. Be available to travel to Napa Valley as required ( averaging 6 - 8x a year)

  19. Establish appropriate remote workstation, answer phone and respond to emails in a timely fashion. Phone calls and emails are to be returned same day.

  20. Provide positive, proactive engagement with the property hotel General Managers and Area Director of Sales.

  21. Provide feedback and goals and objectives in preparation of annual sales plans and budgets.

  22. Ensure effective leisure pricing strategies are properly communicated to leisure clients.

  23. Assist Area Director of Sales as needed on corporate initiatives.

  24. Establishes initiatives and executes direct sales objectives to promote Auberge Resorts brand.

  25. Develops regional planning and strategies to increase brand exposure.

  26. Evaluates promotional events, trade shows, community and industry events to make sure attendance produces the proper return on investment.

  27. Maintain customer, trade, industry and staff relations.

  28. Manage and train the growth and development of the travel coordinator position / sales assistance 

  29. Target key accounts to host familiarization trips to increase ROI

  30. Work with tourism organization to maximize regional opportunities and buying power

  31. Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.


Skills and Abilities

Required

  1. Four year college degree or equivalent education/experience

  2. Minimum 2 years sales experience in a related position in luxury hotel sales environment

  3. Demonstrated record of driving sales revenues in hotel environment

Desirable

  1. Prior experience selling multiple properties or brands.

  2. Prior experience working remotely 

  3. Prior experience working in a remote sales office setting.

  4. Prior experience in managing a sales coordinator 

  5. Prior experience working with professional organizations that support leisure

Required Qualifications

  1. Ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence transient business decision makers and influencers.

  2. Ability to research and identify top prospects for growth of an existing account and develop new accounts.

  3. Ability to be self motivated and achieve goals with minimal direct supervision.

  4. Ability to manage extensive amounts of information.

  5. Knowledge of sales procedures associated with the hotel industry.

  6. Excellent written skills sufficient to produce sales and marketing communication.

  7. Strong computer skills (Google Suite, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Social Media).

  8. Excellent spoken and presentation skills.

  9. Strong ability to listen effectively.

  10. Ability to work effectively both independently and with a team from a remote sales office.

  11. Ability to present clear, concise and meaningful information to owners, guests, executives, managers and employees.

  12. Ability to effectively present information in one on one, small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. 

  13. Ability to sell ideas persuasively and energetically.

  14. Ability to coach and mentor on property sales assistants..

  15. Ability to analyze, interpret and understand financial data.

  16. Ability to maintain high level of organization.

  17. Ability to embody company’s mission, vision & culture..

  18. Ability to plan and execute sales trips on budget and in compliance with corporate travel policy.

  19. Full written and verbal fluency in English.

  20. Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy, prioritize, and organize.

  21. Ability to remain calm when resolving problems using good judgment.

  22. Ability to work cohesively with co workers from a remote office.

Travel Requirements:

  1. Travel domestically and internationally to promote resorts to travel agents, at tradeshows and to the resorts.

  2. Travel to Napa Valley as requested for sites, meetings and travel professional related FAMs.

  3. Travel for internal sales and marketing meetings.

Physical Demands

  1. Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, and climbing. Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting property. 

  2. Constant need to perform the following physical activities: grasping, turning, finger dexterity.

  3. Occasional need to stand for long periods of time.

  4. Lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally. Higher weight threshold may apply when traveling with luggage.

  5. Vision requirements: constant need to view small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arm's’ reach.
