Job description

Salary Range:  $35.9500 - $55.2500 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Privacy Specialist is an investigator and contact in Corporate Compliance for Hoag enterprise-wide privacy incidents. The Privacy Specialist conducts the proper investigations, creates reports and documentation, tracks and timely reports privacy breaches. This role has in-depth working knowledge of privacy practices and is continuously seeking process improvements and making recommendations to protect privacy. The Specialist provides privacy training to align with Hoag privacy guidelines. Maintains the confidentiality and privacy of all Hoag and patient information.

Thoroughly investigate all privacy incidents reported to the Corporate Compliance from start to finish. Triage incidents, conduct interviews, and gather all pertinent information related to the case. Analyzes and prepares data, graphs, reports, presentations and packets related to all privacy activity and incidents that are monitored. Stays abreast privacy related regulatory changes both State and Federal. Reports privacy breaches in a timely manner to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and/or the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) or other appropriate agencies while maintaining documentation of those reports. 

 

Notifies patients of privacy breaches in a timely manner and maintains documentation of those notifications. Maintains accurate tracking of all privacy incidents and privacy activity. Maintains and continuously updates Department incident logs and electronic tracking of privacy activity. Performs Environment of Care privacy rounds. Performs other duties as assigned.
