Overview
The purpose of this position is to provide marketing, communications, analytical and business support for PPL. Under the direction of the Manager of Customer Engagement and Branding, the position will support the organization through market research, digital marketing solutions, content strategy, and brand awareness.
The position will manage various vendors to report customer insights to all levels of the organization, complete industry benchmarking, and inform marketing and communication messaging and activities for the benefit of PPL Electric Utilities. The position will participate in marketing and communications strategy, manage market research projects, provide leadership updates on research, and participate in the development of marketing and communications materials and solutions.
Responsibilities
Facilitate customer and market research efforts to measure brand awareness, consumer sentiment and the competitive environment. Provide actionable insight to leaders and cross-functional teams to help inform and drive marketing and communications strategy.
Administer market research and customer insights portfolios for PPL Electric Utilities and Rhode Island Energy. Partner with internal stakeholders to analyze customer insight and assist in activating customer segmentation, communications and/or marketing strategies for relevant programs, services, and messaging.
Provide technical guidance for digital marketing and advertising and provide technical guidance in the creation of digital ads.
Execute digital marketing campaigns across various digital channels including social media, email, search engines and display advertising.
Measure and report on the performance of digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
Serve as an administrator for email marketing platform (Salesforce Marketing Cloud) and pplelectric.com web updates (Sitecore)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including creative, content, editorial and web development, to produce engaging content and optimize user experience.
Participate in selection and management of vendors to perform market research and other marketing and communications activities. Keep them on budget, on schedule and with high-quality deliverables that meet the objectives of the business.
Participate in marketing and communications strategy development for PPL Electric Utilities. Participate in the development and evaluation of marketing and communications materials and solutions.
Partner with communications and marketing teams to measure campaign performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
Measure digital marketing performance across each platform and provide Google analytics reports for the PPL Electric website and blog.
Measure the impact of marketing communications efforts on our brand and develop initiatives designed to improve PPL's brand and program awareness.
Stay up-to-date with emerging digital marketing and research trends and technologies
Provide customer insight reporting, analytics & tracking, and serve as the utility’s liaison within and outside the industry to facilitate benchmarking.
Work to promote a constructive culture and a safe work environment.
Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among co-workers.
Will be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with major course work in marketing, communications, business, market research or related field.
Minimum 4 years of experience in an analytical, market research or marketing/communications role.
Proficiency in data analysis, segmentation modeling, survey design and project management.
Experience in social media, digital marketing and website evaluation.
Strong understanding of digital marketing/advertising channels, including SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing and display advertising.
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrable customer mindset and a passion for helping people resolve issues.
Able to recognize and escalate any issues that have the ability to affect a large number of customers and make proper recommendations on how to triage and proactively deal with the situation.
Keen business process intuition and a team-player approach.
Strong analytical skills to gather data from various sources (website analytics, social media insights, market research studies, etc.) and translate it into actionable insights to help inform business strategy and campaign optimization.
