Renovare Music is seeking a full-time Managing Director (MD) to lead the operations, donor development, and fundraising of our growing, faith-based 501(c)3 nonprofit. The MD collaborates closely with the Founding Artistic Director (AD) to secure the financial resources needed to achieve the organization’s strategic priorities. Along with the AD, the MD is the public face of the organization, focusing primarily on donors, funders, and community relations. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a vibrant Christian faith and a passion for participating in God’s Kingdom work on earth by using their professional skills and experiences to advance Renovare’s vision and mission within the framework of redemptive entrepreneurship. This is a full-time position, reporting to the AD.

Renovare Music is a dynamic chamber ensemble bridging divided communities and creating restorative experiences through music, storytelling, and relationships. Renovare currently offers approximately 80 interactive concerts and worship events annually, creates original Documentary Songs with community members, and leads two weekly programs teaching violin, viola, and cello at area prisons in Northeast Ohio.

Responsibilities:

○ Support the AD in developing the long-term strategic goals of the organization

○ Create and implement annual fundraising plans to advance long-term goals

○ Develop relationships with and expand contributed income from individuals, community partners, foundations, churches, and corporate sponsors

○ Identify grant opportunities, write grant applications and manage the organization’s grant portfolio

○ Oversee the annual budgeting process and all fiscal and business operations

○ Plan and implement processes for gathering stakeholder feedback and measuring organizational effectiveness

○ Oversee development and marketing related communications

○ Supervise the Development & Marketing Associate in performance of their duties to support the MD

○ Supervise select volunteers

○ Participate in biweekly in-person team meetings or more as needed

○ Attend Renovare events on weekends/evenings approximately bimonthly

Qualifications:

○ A Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience (required) and a Master’s degree (preferred) in marketing, business, or nonprofit management or related field (preferred)

○ 3+ years of non-profit fundraising experience (e.g., engaging with community partners and individual donors, special event planning and implementation, grant writing and reporting), preferably in the arts

○ 3+ years of management/leadership experience

○ Experience with financial management, including development of annual budgets

○ A commitment to personal, professional and spiritual growth

○ Understands and values cultural differences, informed by experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, and/or lived experience as a member of a marginalized group

○ Excellent relationship-building skills: ability to meaningfully connect with and engage internal and external stakeholders

○ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

○ Proven ability to prioritize, organize, and work effectively under deadlines, with high attention to detail

○ Ability to work and manage projects independently and within a team structure

○ An ease with computers and proficiency with Google applications and donor database software

○ Cleveland, OH area resident; an intimate knowledge of the Cleveland community is a strong asset

○ Alignment with and passion for Renovare’s mission, vision and values

Benefits:

○ Annual, untaxed stipend of $1,000 for technological expenses related to pursuing Renovare’s mission (e.g. cell phone bill)

○ Quarterly (paid) personal/spiritual retreat days

○ Health insurance and personal retirement contributions are currently the responsibility of the employee.
